In the beginning of Gladiator their is a Dog that runs through the fire at the beginning. What kind do you think it is? I though maybe a Shepard or a shepard type dog. Anyone know really what it is? I it is pretty. ( I know the movie is violent)
Thank you.|||Looks like a gray and black German Shepard played the part. I also remember seeing references to it being a German Shepard, and that it was historically inaccurate (they didn't exist back then). Can't remember the source though. I have a friend that had one of similar coloring. Uncommon but they do exist. Also, looks too short haired to be a Shiloh. Although you never know with a movie. ReplyDeleteagreed and no its not a belg malinois they good dogs but much smaller back in those days of course germ shep didnt exist but forms of wolf hybrids did and that was what it woulda been the mastiffs also were very much inplay back then but not for battle in fields as they too slow for that excellent for standing ground and kicking ass as so strong and big but too heavy to run wild in a battle btw germ sheps orgin was a wolf dogs rule lol
