Would Gladiator sandles with a vibrant color tunic dress be appropriate to wear to a wedding shower?

I am the maid of honor, and want to look cute, not underdressed!|||Not if the tunic is cotton. I think that would look too casual. Dress it up with some fancy jewelry and you're good to go. :)
