I love the sound that was done in the movie gladiator. I would love to find some music that can compare to it. My problem stems from the fact that it is all original compositions. If this is the type of music you're referencing - portrayal of the "nobility of the human spirit", I would deem it - you may find the following which are genuine pieces of classical music(the "Gladiator"'s soundtrack composed by Hans Zimmer, I would not consider to be).
