Gladiator : He is tough, robust and handsome. For many he is a real man a hero. But he is just a slave and he have to fight(always) in the arena for the survival. Fighting for his life is his destiny.
Roman Prince : He is the son of a Roman Emperor. Not so tough and handsome but he is free, wealthy and have all the thing to live a luxurious life. In future he would be a Roman Emperor the most powerful man in the world.|||They'd probably choose the gladiator if he used to be a skilled warrior and General of the Roman army, who has fallen by betrayal, and is fighting to avenge the death of the former emperor, who was murdered by the current emperor himself.
But a typical gladiator whose life expectancy is no more than 3 arena fights, I doubt it.|||Gladiator..
Cause the roman princes were a little too girlie and effeminate|||A gladiator.|||If they even had a chance, they'd go for roman prince.
A gladiator might provide for you during your lifetime, but being the wife of an emperor means that you and your family would be provided for the entirety of the existence of the roman empire.|||Gladiators often had their faces bashed in and were NOT usually handsome, plus, they lived short, miserable lives!|||Well, ancient rome:
1) The Prince would likely be a blood relative of hers. And he could have her executed for no reason or any reason. She'd also be at risk for being kidnapped or assassinated. Many Roman royalty had reputations for being madmen, too.
2) No reason to marry a gladiator, because they were slaves and could be hired like male prostitutes. Check your history, it's true.
So yeah if I was a woman in ancient Rome I'd just be a temple priestess and have all the power and sex I wanted.
